Prickly Pear

Egypt is famous for its large prickly (cactus) pear production.

Egyptian varieties are a little smaller than those from Mexico and elsewhere, but much sweeter.

For export, the thorns are removed and the fruit is washed, sanitized and waxed to meet a high standard.
